JOHN AND LEANN TAYLOR
as told by LeAnn

We moved to Osceola in December 2008, when John became manager of Osceola's Walmart Store. Walmart has been his career and has given us a broad experience in many locations. I was originally from Louisiana but we met and were married in Missouri. We were there from 2002 until 2005, and were transferred to New Orleans at the time of Katrina. We personally were spared the worst of the horror and after a year were the first store to reopen. In 2006, we were transferred to Alaska, and were there a year and seven months. It is a beautiful states With the mountain scenery and moose wandering through our yard, I would go back again any time we are given the opportunity.

From Alaska, we moved to Osceola and the difference in terrain was a shock, but we have become acquainted with the people and find it is a wonderful place to be. We live in the lovely, quiet Golf Course Manor area and are becoming acquainted with our neighbors. I met Dana Hembry when we attended the same church, Christs'way. She told me about Freedom for Youth and neither John nor I had ever known anything like it. We see its potential for actually changing lives and homes. In fact, we know it happened in Des Moines.

It is fascinating that I can look back on my life and believe I have been led all the way along toward this goal. During the years I became a mother of two daughters: Ryleigh who is seven and Reagan who is three. This was my first experience with children, and I had time to earn my degree in psychology. These will be so helpfill in Freedom for Youth.
